Fentanyl now turns up in drug supplies where people don't expect it, and xylazine — an animal sedative often called "tranq" — has become a common adulterant in much of the country. Xylazine isn't reversed by naloxone alone, so the test strips are the check before use.

Health departments and public health programs are the largest buyers here, often ordering naloxone and test strips together in bulk for community distribution. Schools, universities, and shelters order too.
